Jacksonville's International Airport is ten miles north of downtown offInterstate 95. It is served by Gator Taxi, Yellow Cab, and recently the Super Shuttle has begun operation. Jacksonville is a destination as well as a point of origin for international travel.

CSX Railroad is headquartered in Jacksonville which has been a rail hub since the 1880's. The Jacksonville Transportation Authority is leading the trend toward transit alternatives with the city-wide bus system and its futuristic "Skyway" monorail system operating primarily in downtown.

From any perch downtown one can see all modes of transportation on any given day includingocean-going freighters on the St. Johns River. On Clear days, smoke trailsfrom NASA shuttle launches can be seen from Jacksonville Beach!
